The Moon and Mother Nature
Share
From a very young age I have always been drawn to the moon. It’s magnificent silver glow. The changing of the shape as it waxes and wanes though it’s cycle, set against the backdrop of the inky black sky, I would find myself mesmerized for ages, sometimes unable to draw my eyes away. It calls to me in a way that is indescribable. It has…something calm and magical about it. You can feel it. Perhaps it’s the moon’s rays, in the same way you can feel the warm rays of the sun on your skin, perhaps I can feel the moon’s rays too, so subtly that it registers subconsciously. For as long as I can remember I have asked myself the same question…Why am I so drawn to the moon? But the answer never seems to come or more likely I am blocking the answer subconsciously because I’m afraid of the answer, perhaps the answer is a rabbit hole I am avoiding.
I am also massively drawn to nature. Trees in particular, rivers, streams, meadows, the sounds, walking through tall grass, forests. Anywhere where nature surrounds you. I get a sense of being filled up, recharged, but calmed at the same time. I’ve come to realise recently that nature grounds me, it takes away any stress. I find myself regressing back to childhood and watching earwigs meandering on the path wondering what they are doing or finding small flowers I’ve never seen before and wondering what they are called…google lens is the best tool I take out with me on a walk! As much as I feel an affinity for nature, it also feels like I am disconnected in a way my ancient ancestors never were. An unwelcome by product of modern living.
That’s also one of the reasons for creating The Quiet Hearth. Helping others to reconnect with Mother Nature, to help people feel grounded and stress free. To recapture the feeling of being part of nature before we all grew up and forgot what that felt like.
I need to spend more time in nature…I need to make more time to be in nature. Perhaps I also need to go down the rabbit hole I am holding back from.
If you are also looking to reconnect, ground your energy, or explore your own rabbit holes, i would suggest grounding crystals and protection candles
